Atacama Moon Valley

For this breathtaking excursion we will be picked up at our hotel in the afternoon to enjoy a spectacular evening exploring the Moon Valley. Along the way from San Pedro towards Calama, we will stop to take some great pictures of the Andean Mountain range, the huge Atacama salt lake, the active Lascar Volcano and the impressive Licancabur Volcano. We will continue towards the Moon Valley, a silent moonscape with strange formations that nature has carved of salt and clay. We will visit the “Tres Marías” rock formation and salt caverns before watching the sun fade away into the night. Before sunset we can also opt for a short hike to one of the giant sand dunes in the valley. (EVENING)

... to the Arcoiris Valley (Rainbow Valley) famous for its colorful mountains of diverse minerals showcasing stunning contrasting hues. Here we will take some time to enjoy our surroundings and take various pictures to remember this unique place of beauty. Subsequently we will then make our way to the town of Rio Grande known for its traditional architecture of clay, straw and stone. To this day its inhabitants still dedicated themselves to ancestral ways of life including agriculture and farming as a main source of income.

Half day Cejar & Ojos del Salar & Tebenquiche

On this excursion, we will travel through Chile’s vast Atacama Desert to reach the famous Cejar Lagoon known for its intense turquoise color and its extreme high concentration of salt. There, the complementary landscapes make for incredible scenic photographs. After a bit of exploration, we will then make our way to Ojos del Salar; two small circular fresh water lakes separated only by a few feet. As we stand before these natural wonders’ in the middle of this barren land, we will come to realize the magic of this place and contrasting arrays of life. From there we will be transferred to the Tebenquiche Lagoon, known for its thick white layers of salt crust and its beautiful backdrop. This is one the best places in the desert to contemplate the spirit of the land and enjoy the reflecting suns beauty. (HD) (COCKTAIL)

... this altitude are considerably low this early in the morning. At dawn we will observe powerful spurts of steam that shoot out from various geyser blowholes and steaming ponds that are encrusted with brilliant salt crystals reflecting the metal-blue sky.

Afterwards, we will visit the famous main square of the city called Plaza de Armas, which is surrounded by the Metropolitan Cathedral and other historical buildings. We will continue visiting the Santa Lucia hill, the mount upon which the Spanish founded Santiago in 1541. It is a lone steep rock, with many plants and an antique building rising steeply from the city below. Then, we will cross the Mapocho River to get to Bellavista, the cultural and artistic neighborhood of Santiago. Bellavista lies at the foot of the San Cristóbal Hill, the highest in town, in the middle of the Metropolitan Park.We will go up the hill to explore the surroundings while enjoying beautiful panoramic views of the city. Finally, we will visit Providencia with its top restaurants, elegant shops and modern high-rise buildings. After this amazing tour we will call it a day and return to the hotel.

Rapa Nui was once the cradle of a unique and enigmatic culture that continues to endure today. The island’s language, music, and countless traditions are kept alive by its proud inhabitants, while the enormous carved stone Moai are tangible testimonies of its enigmatic past.

... here face the ground. We will continue on the “Camino de los Moai” (Moai trail), passing several sculptures lying on the side of the road.

Once we reached Ranu Raraku (the quarry where all moai were sculpted) we will have a delicious picnic lunch, before starting your ascent to the correspondent volcano. Here more than 300 statues can be appreciated, some of them half-carved, many broken, but all will give us an insight in the incredible culture of Rapa Nui. From the edge of the volcano we can also enjoy the view of a crater-lake.

We will make another cultural stop at the recently reinstalled Ahu Tongariki and its 15 moai, before taking a small break at the beautiful Anakena beach. The white sandy seaside with coconut palm trees and the blue cove of warm pacific water make it a true paradise. Here we can relax on the beach, go for a swim in the nice water or discover two more Ahus, one of them particularly interesting because of the moais’ carvings on the back. From here we will return to your hotel, passing Vaitea, the only eucalyptus forest on the island.

... Tahai. This archaeological site forms an integral part of the Rapa Nui National Park and was designated a World Heritage site by UNESCO. We will proceed to the unrestored Ahu Hanga Poukura where we can see a huge platform where the moais, now knocked down and facing the ground, used to stand. Continuing our journey we will drive to the quarry Puna Pau, a crater of red Scoria stone, from which the Pukaos where created. After many beautiful impressions of nature and culture, we will return to our hotel in the early afternoon.

Half Day Orongo Tour

In the morning, we will take a drive up the Rano Kau extinct volcano. Along the way we will be able to appreciate panoramic views of the entire island as well as make a brief stop at an outlook point that showcases a crater lake. From there we will head to the ceremonial village known as Orongo. There, we will learn about its past, culture and the history of the birdman cult. We will also be able to observe a variety of petroglyph images and be able to spot 3 islets situated opposite of the coastline. Afterwards we will drive down the volcano to the Ahu Vinapu that includes an ahu with interesting stonemasonry. Subsequently our last stop of the morning will be the cave of Ana Kai Tangata where we will find interesting wall paintings.
